A Real Speakeasy?

Found this one in Nampa. No time to check it out. Does have a fun entrance? The only speakeasy I've been to is Capo's in Las Vegas. LOVED that place.

The Forsythia is Waking Up

Not fully in bloom, yet, but soon. There's an old saying around here that when the forsythia blooms, it's time to trim the rose bushes. I know what I'll be doing this weekend :)

Hold It

But, now it's spring! Sure felt like it yesterday, too. At most public parks, the restrooms are closed during the cold season.

Rain, Rain, Rain

These critters are happy. Some Boiseans are beginning to complain about the persistent gray skies and drizzle. Looking at weather notes, we're still a little low on rainfall for the month, and usually only see 6 totally clear sky days in March.

We attended a celebration of life over the weekend, and learned a little about the Sami - who are the indegenous people of Finland and Norway. Idaho is also home to a pocket of Finnish influence not far from McCall, where buildings featuring Finnish architecture have been preserved.

Full Worm Moon

No, that's not a worm on the face of the moon, it's a tree branch. March is called the full worm moon because it's when robins start getting active...eating worms.

Fishing for Breakfast

Boise has many in-town fishing opportunities, not just in the Boise River, but also at the numerous ponds that are regularly stocked with trout.
