Old Barn Burner

The old barn at Fairview and Cloverdale burned down this week. Arson is suspected. I took the photo on the left in May.

Fandemonium Scrap Costume Contest

Teams have to beat the clock to make costumers out of piles of scrap and trash - along with a "secret ingredient," which was popcicle sticks. It's one of the most popular events at Fandemonium. It's a cosplay anime/Marvel/gaming fandom festival held annually.

Artist at Work

This young girl was working on drawings to sell in the Artist Alley at Fandemonium. The annual event is a salute to all things anime/sci-fi/comic/horror/gaming.

Tour de Fat Bicycle Parade

More than 1,000 people dressed up to participate in the Tour de Fat Bicycle Parade in Boise today. Costumes were crazy, funny, risque and everything in-between. The event is part of the New Belgium brewing festival held in Boise every August. Money raised goes to local charities.

Hummingbird in the garden last night. This is a female black-chinned hummingbird. She's just stopping for a while as she migrates.

One of the mainstay bars in Downtown Boise: Hannah's. It used to be called Humpin' Hannah's - and still is by many. Relics of the name are on a banner in front and painted on the back of the building.
