One winter it froze and the Canada geese who wintered there swam in a smaller and smaller circle in the center of it. Finally one goose had waited so long to get out of the water he was in a very small hole in the ice. It took him the longest time to maneuver out. We watched for hours while his struggle went on, knowing the ice was too thin to go out to help. He finally got a footing somehow and got himself out. Whew! One of nature's struggles I guess.We were glad to see him make it.
