Attention! This is the Centennial High School marching band. The kids are practicing every day, all day, for two weeks before school starts. I've always thought it strange they have to practice in the parking lot on that hot asphalt when there is a nice, green football field just a few feet away. But I guess they aren't allowed on the field except during halftime.
That's more cruel than strange, any other place available?
ReplyDeleteI think they have a grass field here, not the football field of course, cant mess that up for the jocks...LOL.
ReplyDeleteHave to save the beautiful grass for all those boys to tear up.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm the very last one you can see in the back. You can only see my shoulder and head. My flute is in front of the girl in the green shirt. Thanks for posting this!
ReplyDeleteThe band should stand up for the right to practice on the field. They certainly deserve the feel of the grass under their feet as they practice as much as the athletes do.
ReplyDeleteYep - you can hear these guys from my parent's house, no problem.
ReplyDeleteThat's just so unfair. They deserve to practice on the field, after all school bands are so motivating.
ReplyDeleteIt's not about feeling sorry for them, they practice on the asphalt with lines to help them march in unison with symmetry. Also, when they march on the field, which is usually the BSU field at Bronco Stadium, it's very firm like asphalt, the grass is a hinderance against their learning to march and play at the same time. Trust me, it's a good thing!!
