Boise Foothills Trip

It was a misty morning when we headed up into the hills northwest of Boise over the weekend. We attended the 10th annual hummingbird banding. It was our second time attending the event. The foothills are a shrub-steppe habitat, with trees and vegetation like this along seasonal streams. Pictures of a hummingbird in hand tomorrow.

  4. What a lovely area! I'll look forward to seeing your hummingbird photos...I've tried but they just flutter their wings, stick up their beaks and flit away!

  5. Beautiful country. I bet you have heard that before...! But it's true.

I liked the photo of the kittens. Did you notice the "M" on the forehead of the tabby cat? There is quite a legend about the "M" on EVERY tabby cat's forehead.

If you are interested, I will tell you sometime. My grandmother told me years ago and since we had about 65 cats on the farm (we milked cows!) I checked out every tabby cat and, yes, each one had that big "M" on its forehead!
