This rocky pinnacle is a sharp mark on the mountain skyline north of Boise. I used to know the name of it, but it's a piece of Boise trivia that has slipped my mind. Help!
It has been Stack Rock for as long as our family has been around---almost 100 years. I grew up on the mountain. There used to be a school up there called Stack Rock School, it incorporated into the Boise School district in th 1950's. Not sure why others insist it is Castle Rock.
I don't know the name of the rock but it's a wonderful photograph.
ReplyDeletePlaces like that often have colorful names. I can't wait to find out what it is.
ReplyDeleteStack Rock
ReplyDeleteI like how disappears from view in certain spots in the valley. How can a rock so big from one viewing, be gone from just a slightly different angle!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteCastle Rock!
