These lambs are Boise residents at a small farm within the city limits. These are twins. We counted 13 lambs are our friend's house - I think he said there were 15, so one must have been hiding. I know another one is being nursed in a backyard because it has a broken leg. And then there's this poor guy below. His legs didn't come out first so they're damaged. He can't really stand on his front legs. But he seems to be figuring out how to get along because he's growing and sturdy.
So cute and another sure sign of spring. The hills around the coast here are studded with little dahlings like this.
ReplyDeleteI feel so sorry for the little one. They are cute though.
ReplyDeleteHow often does it happen that a lamb comes out wrong way first? And what is such a lamb's fate?
ReplyDeleteOh the poor thing. But he sure looks determined — and resilient. I hope he makes it.
ReplyDeleteJust read Brattcat's question and now I want to know the answer too.
Living in the North End myself I am always happy to stumble upon these wee micro farms that got grandfathered-in when the City Limits expanded.
ReplyDeleteWith Boise increasingly looking like a suburb of Los Angeles, it is nice to have these reminders that we're still in Idaho.
Aw, little lambs are so endearing. Hope the little fellow soon strengthens enough to stand straight.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks for sharing these. It's a shame about his legs, but maybe with repeated tries, he will compensate and be able to gain muscle strength and walk.
ReplyDeleteThey are so adorable! I hope that little guy makes it.
ReplyDeleteHow sad. It's hard enough to be a lamb soon to be, well, led ...
ReplyDeleteoh, never mind.
I'm never going to eat leg of lamb again, though.
That poor lamb makes me so sad! I hope they don't put it down or sell it. I'd keep it and love it so much!
ReplyDeleteAwwwww...they are cute.
