This is a shame! I think cutting trees for Christmas should not be allowed and in case of heavy rains it can be dangerous disposing them on a watercourse.
I was always told to dispose of them in a pond or a river, because it aids the little fish in hiding from the larger ones. I've had a couple real trees for Christmas & then disposed of them in my parents pond on their property - then I just felt bad about it, so I purchased a fake one.
Hi Tricia! I've never heard of being advised to dump a tree into a body of water. Interesting. I'm a fan of fake trees, too. I used to not be...but then the real Christmas tree I used to always purchase rose to $80 in price, and fake looked good.
