Do You Know What This Is?
When you grow up in Southern Idaho, you often see these by the roadside in the fall. It looks scary, but it's safe to touch. I picked this one up and took it home to weigh it - it weighed in at 8 pounds. Do you know what it is?
No, I don't know, no idea at all with this weight...But I have a good excuse: I was born in western France...
ReplyDeleteI thought it was some quartz, but looking close up it looks like part of a root to something.
ReplyDeleteIs it a potato....a potato that's seen better days, maybe?
ReplyDeletelooks like a sugar beet>
ReplyDeleteIs it a mutant ninja potato? Did you fry it up Diva?
ReplyDeleteI have no clue but I wouldn't want to meet it in a dark alley.
It's a sugar beet! I used to drive by that factory every day...most people hate the smell, but I equate it with burnt peanut butter, and then it's not so bad. Really. :)
ReplyDeleteYes - it IS a sugar beet. When I was a child, I hauled one home and tried to hack into it - thinking it had to be sweet and yummy. Um....no.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking beet too. As a general rule, the bigger the root vegetable, to more varying the quality!
ReplyDeleterats, I missed it by this much
