These are "Wal-Mart" cows, very close to the shopping complex on Overland Road. I'll add them to my "Cows of Boise" collection. You can see more Boise bovines through the links on the right hand side (scroll down). Along the fence were milkweed plants. I snapped off a pod. I'd like to grow some milkweed for butterfly friends in a corner of my yard.
There is something so incongruous about cows pastured beside a huge shopping complex. But fun! :D
ReplyDeleteI wish to buy cow one day.
ReplyDeleteWe had a pet galah that would eat milkweed all day long if you’d let him. I really enjoyed this photo, I am a fan of the good old cow.
ReplyDeleteWell, I had to go and look up gala Kris..they're only found in your part of the world. Wikipedia authors seem to frown on them as pets because they're too "needy" and "social?"
ReplyDeleteThe problem with galahs as pets isn't so much as the galahs [bird] themselves, but the 'galahs' [idiots] that take them on lightly.
ReplyDeleteThey are a lifelong pet, and really need space and companionship (other birds). If you give them that, and attention, they are wonderful pets. Most parrots are.
Problems come (as always) with people who don't recognise their intelligence and cage them up with little to amuse and challenge them.
Kris - interesting stuff about the galahs - it looks like they can outlive an average person easily. What happened to yours?
