Wagon Wheels For Sale

I have this fascination about people who use wagon wheels as yard art, they're quite common around here. I wonder where they get them. Well, here's some I found for sale in the weedy yard at an "antiques" store. No price on them, and no one in the store that I could find, so I have no idea what they cost. It's great that something that can no longer be used for its original purpose has value as art or a decoration. See my wagon wheel "I spy" posts on the right hand side of the page.

  1. Love this photo of the old wagon wheels. I've never seen any around here, perhaps they never used such things on account of the mountains? As you say, it's good to know something old is being used as decoration.

  2. I like the old wheels, it would go nicely in my front yard next to my fake well.

  3. We find lots of these around here as well, used as yard ornaments, etc. I have posted a couple I found also. I like to think that some we see today are relics from the migration over the Oregon Trail.

My husband had a big wooden hub from one made into a swap lamp back in his apartment before we were married.

  4. I love that kind of yard art. I don't know why but it kind of gives the yard a "slow down and smell the tumbleweeds" kind of feel.

  5. Pretty! I love old wood in general—cracks, peeling paint and all. As long as they don't have termites. ;)
