One more on my tour of recently closed schools in Boise. This one is the newest of those deemed "obsolete." This West Junior High is at the corner of Emerald and Curtis. They are building a new West Junior High a little ways from here.
I tried to peek in the grimy windows. It was hard to take a picture, but look - they leave the American flag in the abandoned building? And the message on the board? "NO GAMES OR PICTURES." So....I took a picture. Franklin Elementary and Cole School are the other schools recently closed for good.
School closed for good ?
ReplyDeleteUnable to understand...
The building is Ok. Any other reason?
School teachers and school administrators get a disease called, "new school" and will abandon their invalid mothers to starve alone until they get the cure for their disease. The cure here was about 12 million.

Maybe it was built before the internet, computer age and would cost more to rewire the building. It looks good to me.
ReplyDeleteHi hobo - it is difficult to understand. They always list a lot of "reasons" why a new school is needed. I think they like to build news schools.
ReplyDeleteI must admit I know nothing about the politics of school administration, but the same thing happens here in our town. They tear down a perfectly good structure, then build a new school and put up temporary buildings.
ReplyDeletemust be a trend
ReplyDeletewe close perfectly good buildings down south too, and build new ones - of lesser quality and greater cost. Sad...
Wow,it's hard to fathom a a bunch of school closings here in Las Vegas. We keep building them and are in dire need of teachers.
ReplyDeleteI wish the buildings can be transported to the Philippines. One of the (many) problems of our public education system is the lack of classrooms.
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame about all these schools. There's a new school in the works around here, and my mother is SEETHING because SHE REMEMBERS when its predecessor was built. (This was over half a century ago, but so it goes.)
ReplyDeleteI went to West. NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. That was a computer lab, the writing on the board means no computer games or computer games. I miss that school. The new West SUCKS!
