Long-Forgotten Olympic Hotel

A relic of a rusted out sign hanging on a building in downtown Boise. I don't know anything about the hotel's history, the building is no longer a hotel. It's surprising this old sign is still there. There's an art gallery underneath. I think the lower level was a club/bar at some point, and I have no idea what is on the upper floors.

  2. My grandmother Sparks used to own the hotel in the late 70s. I remember visiting a few times. The hotel was in bad shape even back then. The residents were rather down on their luck..

  3. I don't know the history before or after....however, From about 1972 - 1980, Purcell' s Western Wear was downstairs and the Olympic Hotel (owned by Purcell) had live-in managers. There were ten rooms, rented on a month-to-month basis, at the top of the staircase.
