This Snowy View May Not Last Much Longer

The snow-capped mountains may not be in our view shed much longer. Boise's high temperature was 81 degrees yesterday, and the snow line in the view has risen. The warmer temperatures have greened things up in the valley, most trees are still without leaves, though. This picture was taken from along McMillan Road. This section doesn't have curbs or sidewalks on the north side of the street, and there is a canal running along the road.

  1. Beautiful view! The climate sure seems to warm up in a hurry out west. We are back to the 50s today and 30s tonight in the Deep South!

  2. Thanks for stopping by "rambling round." I just checked our weather forecast and we're getting a quick change ourselves - a chance of snow tomorrow! And it did snow last week - someone joked to me that's why it's called "spring" - the weather bounces around.

  3. Does the snow slowly melt or is it normally melted off the whole mountain in a day? Its very pretty now.

  4. Hi Jim - welcome back! Our view of that snow can disappear for the most part very quickly. I do know that beyond that initial range, the snow is slower to melt. There have been times flying into, and out of Boise, that I've seen snow on the tippy-tops of the Northern Rockies Range in early July.
