Buy a bowl for $10, receive excellent soup and benefit the Idaho Foodbank. Today in The Grove, 11 to 3. I want a bowl with polka dots.

Christmas at the Mall

Santa is on duty at Boise Towne Square Mall and the Christmas music is playing. I've learned this makes some people very angry because they feel it is too early. You?

Fountains at The Village

We scoped out a new development over the weekend called The Village. There was a small outdoor ice rink to go along with the mini-Las Vegas-style water entertainment. Retail is coming - not much open yet.

Shiny, Shiny

Metallic coffee cup sets at Starbucks. A shopping tip: The local store manager told me that they don't receive any additional Christmas shipments. Each store gets one allotment of holiday offerings. So if you really like something...waiting may mean you don't get it.

Raking, Raking, Raking

This is what the Treasure Valley was doing all weekend. The City of Boise will pick the leaves up for the city compost project. At my house, we mow all the leaves into the lawn. Just run them over with the mower a few times and they'll be "disappeared" by spring. We also dump some into the compost bins.

It Takes a Village...

They do it all, or you can do your own. I believe the "Norge Cleaning Village" concept can be found around the country. Not far from here is the Vacuum Villa.

A rainy day in Boise again. Love these big fat raindrops on lupine.

Empty Bench

Want the park all to yourself? Not many people in neighborhood parks when the weather turns cold, but plenty of wildlife. Wigeons and ducks were poking around the pond.

With the leaves gone, how many of you found one of these wasp condos?

Circle of Barbs

Barbed wire resting on a post in West Boise. Weather forecasters say this is our last "nice weather" weekend - probably for the year.
