The view while I was commuting yesterday morning.

It's a Modern Barn

To compare to the "fun barn" and "old barn" postings this month: a "modern barn."

It's a Fun Barn

That's what the writing on the basketball backboard says...

Front Porch Decay

I think we had this same style of chair for a dining room set while growing up - except, in green.

Cloud Hugging

A roll of cloudy fluff topping the snow-covered mountain view, with a spot of sun in the foothills.

Saturday Caturday

Sister kitties cuddled up in my office. Happy weekend! (Jazzy Kitty on the left, Sweetie on the right)

Still Standing

This relic is no longer part of a farm. It's surrounded by new housing and businesses.

Purple and Lost - #3

Spotted on a bench in the lobby of the Boise Contemporary Theater - in case they're yours. (the third post in recent months featuring lost purple "things")

"Bowled Over" by the Yard Decor

I did think these could be "gazing balls," but a closer look shows they really are bowling balls.

Blustery Day in Boise

Big wind all day for yesterday's first day of spring. And today, is officially three years old.

Rain on the Butte

Just before sunset, another band of showers/hail traveled through Northwest Boise.

Oopsie on McMillan

My husband says he heard this crash this morning while on the back patio having coffee. The investigation went on for several hours and Boise Police say two people were hospitalized. No other cars involved.

Hydrant Shower

I believe this hydrant was opened on purpose. Must have been for some kind of testing?

Pillar of History

These informational monuments dot Southeast Boise and provide information about the Oregon Trail - which made its way through town, even before there much "town."

Cute House...Plus Cats

Lots of cute details on this Victorian-style home, although it might need a little TLC. I also like it because there are two kitties on the front porch.

A Reminder Today That Spring Isn't Here Yet

A surprise snow shower this afternoon.

Transportation Alternatives

High gas prices have folks talking about different ways of getting around.

So, What are You Paying?

A price reader board last night. My fill-up cost about $42. The guy next to me with a big truck was still filling past $80 when I left.

Green, Green Glass

The light was hitting these windows just right to pick up on the usually-not-so-noticeable tint. And the building in the foreground is the Yen Cheng bakery, which I thought had closed...but the sign says open.

Ghost Stone

A piece of something older incorporated into the design of a plaza, downtown Boise.

The Legislature is in Session

And the Capitol has been a hot spot with many controversial decisions being made. More rallies and protests this year than I've seen in years. Yay for the public for getting involved.

Addicted to Shoes

These are costume and prop pieces, but I think there are some nice looking shoes in the jumble.

Waiting to Become Something

Every once in a while when downtown, I like to peek behind the art panels to see if anything "new" is happening yet at what's referred to as the Boise Hole. I think there are some new graffiti additions. At one time, this site was promoted as the future home of the tallest building in Idaho.

Bright Details

Interesting detail on a building downtown. Looks like it would blend in with the Egyptian Theater - but it's a few blocks away.

Empty Windows

Office space, or condo? Available in Downtown Boise.

Monday, March 7, 2011

Sun Art

I haven't seen anything like this before. I like it.

Super Stretch for a Snack

This trickster is raiding a neighbor's bird feeder.

Parking Lot Relic

This tower is at the corner of the parking lot behind the Hoff Building. The building has an art deco theme, and I can see it in this tower, so maybe it's part of the same development. Or, it's something leftover from a previous building?

Ring My Bell

Everyone is welcome to ring the bell at this entrance to the 8th Street Marketplace. I believe Red Sky PR can be found behind the doors.

They Really Do Still Exist - See to Believe

I've featured photos previously of public payphone "shells," as they've disappeared from the landscape. This back-to-back set-up is on the walkway entering The Grove, downtown Boise. And just like old times, I saw someone walk by and stick their finger in the return change slot checking for leftovers.

Fish Wrap on a Building

This colorful art is not far from the bears posted last week. You gotta look up to catch these fish.

Interesting Perch

At the top of the 805 Building, this perch is an interesting add-on. A condo? Why the razor wire?
