This Sign is Hot

Geothermal heating has long been part of the history of Boise, with warm and hot springs aquifers running under sections of town. Boise has the largest direct geothermal system in the country. Close to 60 buildings use geothermal for heating systems. Boise artist Ward Hooper designed this plaque, which was unveiled for buildings last year.

  1. The county I live in here in Iowa has gone to all geothermal. It is expensive to install but pays off quickly.

I am waiting for an estimate to have it put in where I live.

Enjoyed the parking garage art! Always lots of interesting photos on your blog!

You are certainly a good ambassador for Boise! The city should provide a link on its official website to your blog! It is very, very good.
