This Is How We Do It

Pipes "set" to water the crops. These are done by hand and it's not as easy as just dropping the pipe into the waterway. It has to be placed so there is a natural suction to carry the water up and out. In the summer at smaller-town fairs and festivals, there are "pipe setting" contests to see who can get the most pipes flowing quickest. The brown crop in this photo is wheat.

  1. Very interesting. I had no idea such a technique existed.

I am familiar with irrigation systems -- the traditional spider like structures that go in a big circle. But this is new to me. Interesting.

I enjoyed the photo of the repo house -- wow! But, yes, I have actually walked through such places and it is very sad.

I've been gone for a while, so I will try to take some time to scroll through your recent posts. I always enjoy a glimpse of your Boise world.
