Scorched Earth

Burnt foothills. One of our recent blazes as our fire season gets underway. The days are hot with low humidity, and evening thunderstorms spark many of the fires. This one came very close to some homes.

  1. Boy, it sure is hot and dry everywhere out here. I hope none of the fires grow too big or burn houses etc. There are some hige fires in B>C> and the Chelan fire. Hopefully rain is in the forecast. MB

  2. Looks like it was a little too close to home. Most of our fires during the dry season, are started by lightning.

  3. That must have been very frightening to watch. I wonder how many years it will take for life to get a foothold there again.

  4. Hi! I have been blurking on your blog for awhile. I am a former Boise native who now lives in the DC Metro area. I was born and raised in Boise and only lived away from there in college and when we moved away 3 years ago. I LOVE the connection that you give me to my home town. Even this scorched earth picture - which is sad, but still a true picture of Boise in the summer. THANK YOU! -Sara
