I don't know the name of the rock but it's a wonderful photograph.
Places like that often have colorful names. I can't wait to find out what it is.
Stack Rock
I like how disappears from view in certain spots in the valley. How can a rock so big from one viewing, be gone from just a slightly different angle!

Castle Rock!
It has been Stack Rock for as long as our family has been around---almost 100 years. I grew up on the mountain. There used to be a school up there called Stack Rock School, it incorporated into the Boise School district in th 1950's. Not sure why others insist it is Castle Rock.
