A "Medieval" Castle

Not far from yesterday's year-round Halloween characters is this castle.

This looks like some of the wonderful playgrounds that have appeared in schoolyards and public places throughout New England.

It's not a playground, it's actually the enterance to a corn field that serves as a "Haunted World" during the month of October. It's just for looks ;)

I'm in the process of reading World Without End (Ken Follett) that is set in the 1300s.

This reminds me of that.

Pre-medieval or ancient medieval is my guess! Most forts were built of stone by the Middle Ages! If I was a kid you'd see me disappear in there!!
