Boise Elevation Sign

This old sign is at the Boise Depot - which used to be a passenger train stop, but passenger train service is no more for Boise. If you look up facts about our city, the elevation listed is usually 2,704 feet above sea level. The depot is on slightly higher ground on the "first bench," which is the first plateau stepping up from downtown proper.

  1. Wow, that's pretty high. Manila's only about 10 meters above sea level. Does this mean you have cool weather all year round?

  2. I'm so sorry to hear you've lost passenger train service. Maybe it will come back. It's such a civilized way to travel.

  3. Hi Hilda - no cool weather year-round for us. We get all four seasons, and this weekend, it will be around 100 degrees.
