Big Wind Casualty

We had big wind with thunderstorms last night and this is one of the casualties of the storm. Canopies can become giant kites, even if anchored down because the joints on ones like this one can be snapped by a wind gust.

  1. This can be quite dangerous!... This coast where I live is very windy, it's the price you pay to live by the ocean, but, gladly, strong winds are not that often.

  2. Something like this happens here when the libeccio (a strong westerly or south-westerly wind) blows from the sea. Hope nothing serious happened to anybody.

  3. Yikes! We've had the same thing in Central Florida...we're ok, but some folks in the Orlando area had houses smashed when big oaks, waterlogged from all the rain, fell in the wind!

  4. It seems like all around us everyone had gusty winds but we didn't. I guess I am glad after seeing a few storm casulties. MB
