Ready for the Bunny?

The results of my daughter's Easter egg coloring project this week. When I was growing up, these were the eggs the Easter bunny hid around the house. That's not what the Easter bunny does for my child, though, out of concerns about gastrointestinal dangers of eating boiled eggs left at room temperature for hours. These eggs are strictly for fun and snacking - right out of the refrigerator. The eggs the bunny will hide are plastic and filled with candy and small toys.

  3. Ours were always hidden in the garden! And Easter's always summer here. I think we all survived the experience pretty well. Though I think we would've preferred toys over eggs ;)

  4. When I was a child we did the same...the real eggs that we dyed were hid all around the house and yard. We never had plastic eggs. This is a lovely photo. The colors are so pretty!!

  6. Happy Easter! Great photo for today. I am glad you enjoyed the cactus and Chihuly on my site. I will have more Chihuly coming up and a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West over the next few weeks. I am so glad to hear you were out in Arizona to enjoy the weather and sites. There is so much to see here.

  8. Have a great Easter Sunday tomorrow!

One year our daughter SAW the Easter Bunny...!! She came running into the kitchen when she was about 6 or 7 all excited! Of course I assumed maybe somebody was walking by (we lived in town then) dressed as the Easter Bunny or, well...?

I walked to the big window looking over the front yard and .... guess what?? There was a large white rabbit in the front yard!!!

It had to be someone's pet rabbit because a wild rabbit is not that large and is not all white! My daughter and I just looked out the window at this large rabbit - not believing what we were seeing!

After a short time, the rabbit hopped away (and hopefully towards his home!).

It was one of those "never forget for the rest of your life" moments (not to be confused with a Kodak moment!).

    Take care.

  12. We do the plastic thing too. Mainly because everyone takes turns hiding the eggs outside and the real eggs begin to look pretty sad after a few hidings. And we always would find one or two in the middle of summer. Too funny.
Thanks for visiting my blog--always. MB
