Featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives

I've posted a picture of this Boise icon before - the Westside Drive In. We stopped by for dinner last night. The restaurant is being featured on the Food Network show, "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," May 11th. I think it matches the last two categories. There is only outdoor seating, and that was too chilly for us last night. I'm pretty sure the famous "ice cream potato" will be featured during the Food Network show.

Well I will be sure and watch that show. You'll be famous--well not you but the diner. LOL MB

Thanks for letting us know when it is being featured. My wife loves this place, but since I'm on a diet, I need to avoid it for a while longer. I drool in anticipation:)

That looks like a great place! I always enjoy A & W drive ins and any place like this.

Here is a link to a Des Moines, Iowa, icon: Porky's Diner. http://www.porkysdiner.com/ Their most famous item is the tenderloin sandwich which is about 3 or 4 times the size of the bun.

Looks like their webpage is being developed but you will see some pictures of their famous car nights -- where it looks like American Graffiti.

Neat, I work with a guy whose sons restaurant was featured on that show. I am going to have to look it up.

Great shot, I love those diners. Pity I can't see the show.

A great place in Des Moines is B&B Grocery Meat & Deli. They have great Killer Sandwiches that include their signature Dad's Killer.

Check them out at www.killerdeli.com

Thanks for stopping by! I had to turn off permission for anonymous comments for a while because of a spammer.
