Festival of Trees Gala

Last night was the "gala" opening of the Festival of Trees. No, I was not invited, I was just lurking at the entrance. I think you have to own a fur coat to get on the invitation list. Festival of Trees is an annual fundraiser, which features professional - and amateur - decorated trees. Most are theme trees. I've even decorated a couple of trees for organizations over the years. The trees were auctioned last night for thousands and thousands of dollars. The public gets to see the trees, and the names of who ponied up the cash, tomorrow. My daughter will be singing with an Opera Idaho chorus as part of the entertainment at the festival.

  1. Ooh, I hope you get lots of pictures! If the trees are anything like these nutcrackers, I'm going to be like a little kid in your blog!

Wish your daughter good luck for me!

  3. I absolutely LOVE the Festival of Trees. I always liked to go as a kid, but since it costs quite a bit to get in, my parents only took us a handful of times. We went last year for the first time in years, and it was just as enjoyable as I remember it.

In the WWV they're having the first annual mini-tree festival; I plan to attend and will definitely have photos.
