This stretch of McMillan Road in Boise doesn't have curbing or sidewalks on the north side. A little further West, the highway district added sidewalks a couple of years ago because there's an elementary school on McMillan and the students had to walk on the shoulder of the road to get there. I'm in London at the moment, sidewalks in many areas of town are extra wide, so even though there are a lot of people walking, they're not crowding each other terribly. Another note on this photo - when I took the picture last week, my daughter was with me and she thought she saw a little puppy in the brush. We looked, but didn't find him. It could have been a fox - I've seen them along this stretch of road.

A Little Less Snow in the Mountains

A little further West, the highway district added sidewalks a couple of years ago because there's an elementary school on McMillan and the students had to walk on the shoulder of the road to get there. What a nice view. If the telephone pole was not there you could believe you were the only human being to have seen the sights. Nice shot.

ReplyDeleteHi Abraham - thanks for stopping by. It does seem to be a desolate and remote location, but it really is along a fairly busy street. It's nice to have a view treat when running errands!
ReplyDeleteHi to you Jim - we don't get much spring flooding. The rivers and streams are pretty controlled with dams and reservoirs. The foothills can see some flash floods - I remember one year there was quite a rush of water down the draws and drainages. Little goldfish wound up flopping in the yard of a school - no one ever knew where they came from.

Hi Jon - you're right about the kittens! I have a friend with a cabin in McCall. She had the back door open for fresh air, was cleaning house and thought she saw her cat sleeping on the master bed. Later, she went back to the room and startled the kitty - and it ran around like crazy, it was a bobcat. She says it eventually found its way to the front door.
